2024 CLASS OFFERINGS

Learn to Row

Learn to Row (LTR) classes are geared toward those with no rowing experience. We offer separate LTR classes for youth and adults consisting of eight 2-hour sessions. Morning (youth) and evening (adult) classes are available. You’ll learn all the basics to row confidently on our sheltered cove in just a few weeks. This is a unique experience and perfect for summer vacation for youth (over 13) and adults (over 18). Youth rowers under 18 must be able to tread water for five minutes and swim 50 yards (two lengths of a pool.) Minimum of 4, maximum of 8 students per class. 8 classes, 2 hours each. If you like the sport, we’ll give you a $50 discount off a first-year membership in our rowing club. Youth Learn to Row 6/25 – 7/18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.  Adult Learn to Row 6/24 – 7/17, Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Sunday Adult Learn to Row (Concentrated course in four classes) 7/14 – 8/8, Sundays 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

SPLASH

SPLASH - Did you used to row in high school or college? That may have been a few years ago, but now it’s time to get back in the boat. In these eight 2-hour sessions, our skilled coaches will work on fitness, safety, boat handling, and all aspects of the sport. Our fleet of shells from wide-body Aldens to carbon fiber Fluid Designs are a perfect way to step up as your muscle memory returns and you get that balance back. In no time you’ll be ready to join others in our fleet of 1X 2X, 4X and 8+ shells for open rows and trips up the Mystic River. If you take a SPLASH class and like the club, we’ll offer you a $50 discount off a first-year membership.  Let’s get you back on the water. Make a SPLASH now! Minimum of 4, maximum of 8 students per class. 8 classes, 2 hours each. SPLASH 5/27 – 6/19, Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 PM. 

Summer Coached Rowing Classes

Summer Coached Rowing Class - Our club is all about recreational rowing and enjoying the water with a great group of people. Our expert coaches will help you with skill drills to improve your rowing in our 1X, 2X, 4X and 8+ shells. Rowers in this class will have graduated from our Learn to Row programs and should have a good grasp of basic sculling and sweep skills. We’ll take a novice to the next level by developing your stroke and power to be confident enough to take trips up the river and participate in some friendly scrimmages. Good for novice to intermediate rowers. Minimum of 4, maximum of 8 students per class. 8 classes, 2 hours each. Youth rowers under 18 must be able to tread water for five minutes and swim 50 yards (two lengths of a pool.)  Adult Coached Rowing Class – 7/22 – 8/14, Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Two Youth Coached Rowing Classes 5/28 – 6/20 Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM and 6/25 – 7/18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Coached Youth Experienced Rowers

Youth Experienced Rowing Class - Open to experienced youth rowers (under 18) who want to expand their skills in sculling and sweep rowing. Our expert coaches will conduct scrimmages and work on team building skills needed for advanced rowers. Youth rowers (under 18) must be able to tread water for five minutes and swim 50 yards (two lengths of a pool.) Minimum of 4, maximum of 8 students per class. 8 classes, 2 hours each. Youth Experienced Rowing Class 7/23 – 8/15, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 OM - 5:30 PM.
