Important - For All Class Participants
US Rowing Association (USRA) provides insurance for the Noank Rowing Club. All participants in instructional programs and community rowing must acquire USRA membership. To register for this membership, click the link below.

Fill out the necessary information and it will ask for a club code to associate you with Noank Rowing Club. Use code AA9FZ.

When registering for USRA, High School Sponsored Crew and Level I students should choose the Membership Level of “Learn to Row - $10” and get a 60 day courtesy membership with NRC and USRA. Level II and Private Lesson students should choose “Basic membership - $25” to receive a 1-year membership in USRA. USRA dues are not included in NRC’s instruction fees.

All class participants must be able to swim two lengths of a pool and tread water for fifteen minutes.

High School Sponsored Crew Sign-up
NRC will introduce enrolled Groton High School students over the age of 13 to the sport of rowing, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, health and fitness

Town of Groton high school students (13 – 18 years of age) 5/11/26 – 6/8/26 Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM. Eight sessions, $50. Click here to register.
Spring Rowing Refresher
Did you row in college or high school? This four-week class (two 2-hour periods/ week) is designed for adults who have some rowing skills and would like coaching and assistance to get back on the water and return to the sport. Time will be spent both on and off the water with training from our experienced coaching staff. Space is limited to eight participants. Participants should have some past rowing experience.

Level I - Youth and Adult
This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of the rowing stroke, safety and boat handling. Time will be spent both on and off the water, training with our experienced coaching staff. Participants will learn how to safely launch and maneuver rowing shells on the water and will be prepared to enter a Level 2 class and participate in some community group rows upon completion. Space is limited to eight participants. Norowing experience required.

Level II - Youth and Adult
This 4-week on-the-water session builds on the skills learned in the Level 1 class.Rowers will review the fundamentals of the rowing stroke with training and warm up on the ergometer, but most of the time will be spent continuing to develop boat handling skills and rowing the boat efficiently on the water. Emphasis will be on the individual stroke and rowing effectively in a team boat. Completing this course will prepare you for more advanced classes, and joining in community group rows. Completing participants will have the opportunity to take out a club boat during open rowing sessions as a club member. If you have completed our Level 1 class or if you have some past rowing experience and are comfortable with the rudiments of the rowing stroke, you should signup for Level 2. Class is limited to eight participants.

Private Lessons
Want some one-on-one time with a coach? Sign up for a private lesson with one of our coaching staff members. Group rates are available for 2 or 4 individuals who wish to row together for a private lesson.
