Over 70 rowers, residents and friends of the Noank Rowing Club attended the first Pizza and Oyster FUNdraiser at Palmer’s Provisions and Pizza on Pearl Street in Noank on Thursday July 27th. We all enjoyed Palmer’s gourmet pizza and slurped over 200 oysters from Sixpenny Oyster Farm. Desserts were generously donated by Zest Bakery to round out a perfect meal. The Basket Bonanza raffled off some great prizes like an overnight stay at The Whaler’s Inn, Dinners at Mohegan Sun, and two dozen other prizes, generously donated by local merchants. The proceeds will go into NRC’s operating fund to maintain the rowing fleet and expand rowing programs for youth and adults. Good times, great people, and lots of good food. Thanks to Pat Kelly for organizing the event, to our local businesses and Palmer’s for hosting the event.
