Kelsey Muir Rowing has been a part of my life since middle school. At first it was a hobby then competitive and now I get to teach others!

Allie Socha "has enjoyed many aspects of rowing over her lifetime, rowing, sculling, coxing & coaching. It all started here on the Beebe Cove"!

Dale Hoxie learned to row on the Beebe Cove, and would call himself a sculler, although he is invaluable in all aspects of the sport!

Courtney Kelly A college rower turned coach still loves land training (erging) and sweep rowing!

4 Seasons & Our Coaches

WINTER

We improve or maintain our fitness levels through the winter months with indoor classes that include Pilates, low impact workouts, stretching, calisthenics, ergometer use, a bit-o-health physiology and fitness training. We span the ages from junior (age 13-18) post-collegian (21-27), through masters (ages 27-70).

SPRING

Youth classes (ages 13-18) hit the water early April. Other club members coach or translate their winter of indoor rowing to the water. Splash class invites the public to join us on the water. Spring is a great time for all ages to try out the sport!

By late spring, collegians return to home waters to complete all ages of rowing! Together some row to improve technique. Others simply row to enjoy the beautiful Mystic environs!

SUMMER

Summer is Just Plain Fun! Informal groups of rowers jump in team shells, row individually, row something familiar, or try something new! We also provide classes for all ages: beginners, novice and

experienced alike.

FALL

Fall Labor Day brings Junior programs, while adults continue to row. Some juniors & adults train for the Coastweeks Regatta held at the Mystic Seaport! Others row to simply enjoy the camaraderie and changing fall colors.

NRC provides four seasons of rowing & classes for a wide range of rowing experiences, fitness levels and ages. If you wish to learn a new sport, join an active group, or improve existing skills, join us!
