It's Head of the Charles Season!
The leaves are changing and the mornings are cool… it must be Head of the Charles weekend!

What is the Head of the Charles Regatta? It’s the most anticipated head race every fall taking place on the Charles River in Boston. Teams from around the world travel to Boston to take on the 5 turns and 7 bridges over 4800m. You can learn more about it here.
Some of our own will be racing at the Head of the Charles this weekend. Coach Dale will be competing in the Men’s Senior Master Doubles at 10:24am on Friday. On, Coach Allie will be coxing the Men’s Grand Master Eights for Blood Street Sculls at 9:51am and Derek (Class of 2020) will be rowing in the Men’s Club Eights for U.S. Coast Guard Academy at 12:55pm. Sunday, Coach Holly (Class of 2018) will be coxing in the Women’s Championship Eights for Radcliffe (Harvard) Crew at 2:25pm. We are so proud of all our members, past and present, who will be competing this weekend. Way to go!

Thinking about making the trip up to Boston to watch? Some of the most popular places to watch are the Weeks Footbridge, the Anderson bridge, and the Eliot bridge. There are usually food trucks on the grassy area along Memorial Drive between the Weeks and Anderson bridges near the Radcliffe boathouse. The second half of the course (from the Weeks bridge heading west) is easy to walk on the Boston side of the river all the way to the Finish Area Launch Site (FALS). Rowing vendors galore are on the Boston side from the Eliot bridge to the finish line.
Want to tune in at home? The races will be streamed live on YouTube! Check out this article for the links by day!
