Spring Youth Classes

There may be snow on the ground, but spring is almost here!

Registration for our spring classes is now open. To sign up for classes, each for Noank Rowing Club on Regatta Central’s website or click here. We are offering Early Bird Discounts for our youth classes if you register by March 15th. Check out the class-specific codes in the descriptions below. Intro to Rowing is our class for students ages 13-18 who are in their first year rowing or who have never rowed before. We will teach you the basics of how to row and care for our equipment. The class will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 - 6:15pm beginning March 26th and ending April 25th. If participants enjoy rowing (which we hope you will!), then sign up for Novice Rowers, a follow-up class to build upon what was learned in the first five weeks. Experienced Rowers is our class for students ages 13-18 who have already rowed for at least a year. In this class, athletes work on their technique and row in a variety of boats from eights to singles. This class is for experienced rowers who want to row for fitness and for fun without the commitment of racing. The class will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45-6:15pm from March 26th through May 30. Early Bird Discount Code: Exp19

Junior Racers is our class for students ages 14-18 who have been rowing for at least a year and want to compete at the regional level. Athletes are expected to have excellent attendance and participate in team fundraisers. Athletes are responsible for transportation to regattas. Practices will typically meet from 3:00-5:00pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00pm on Tuesdays, and 8-10am on Saturdays in addition to some Fridays to load the trailer for regattas. A detailed practice schedule can be found here. Once competitions are over, Junior Racers will join the Experienced and Novice classes for end of the season fun.
