Kristen & George Heading "Across the Pond"
We are excited by an opportunity that has come our way. At the same time, we are saddened by the fact this opportunity will take us away from Noank for two to four years. George has been offered, and has accepted, an extended work assignment from Electric Boat / UK, in the Cumbria Region, at the BAE location in Barrow on Furness.
Our relocation will take place the latter half of the first quarter. So, mid-February to early March. Over the past few months we have worked with the NRC board to ensure the club continues to run smoothly and to serve the community as it has for several decades.
It has been Kristen’s passion, joyful fulfillment and soul sating work of a lifetime to be a coach of rowing for 41 years, to be NRC’s secretary and a founding member.
It has been George’s honor to work on repairing and maintaining the growing NRC rowing fleet of oars & shells for everyone's enjoyment. He's proud to be one of the "Magnificent 7" who led the canoe rack redesign & relocation, helped build the shell house and oar locker, attended to all things electrical including cox boxes, walkie-talkies, and of course to be NRC’s stalwart Treasurer.
We plan to find a home with a warm hearth and guest rooms for all who would like to visit.
In the Spirit of rowing –
