Should I Take a Class?

Water Safety

We are keenly aware of water safety so we request all members must be able to swim. New members are evaluated by our coaching staff so they can be matched with the appropriate equipment and/or class.

As an organizational member of USRowing, NRC has adopted the Safe Sports Program for the protection of all of our member and staff.

FAQ

I have interest, but don't know how to row...

NRC is an active club with a sense of community. We enjoy the FUN of rowing and being on the water “building community … one stroke at a time”

Should I take a class? We provide excellent coaching and rowing classes for all ages, all capabilites, all levels of rowing experience. If you are unfamiliar with rowing, or need a refresher, or want to perfect your racing capabilites, then yes, join us in a class!

Do I need a shell?

Joining the club gives you access to rowing shells including eights, fours, quads, doubles and single sculls. So no, you do not need to own a shell.

What if I have a shell to store? Members with thier own shells can request indoor or outdoor storage through the Town of Groton - Park and Recs 860-536-5680

When does NRC row as a group?

We are on the water in one form or another from April 1 – Dec. 1. We organize to row as a group Tues./Thurs. evenings & Sat morning. From there, other times are arranged by members to accommodate a variety of schedules.
